Steve Robinson (English footballer)

Steve Robinson (born 1 December 1974) is an English former professional footballer.

Robinson, a defender, began his career as a trainee with Newcastle United, turning professional in 1993. He made a handful of first-team appearances for Newcastle before joining Hartlepool United on loan in November 1995. This was made permanent in January 1996.

He went on to become a mainstay in the Hartlepool United defence, making over 300 league appearances for the club across a ten-year period. He was known for his strong tackling and commitment.

After leaving Hartlepool in 2006, he joined York City, where he played for two seasons. Following his time at York, he played non-league football with clubs including Whitby Town.

Robinson retired from professional football in 2008, but continued to play at a semi-professional level for a number of years.
