Stanisław Bohusz-Siestrzeńcewicz (painter)

Stanisław Bohusz-Siestrzeńcewicz (1869-1927) was a Polish painter primarily known for his landscapes and genre scenes. He was born in the Vilna Governorate, Russian Empire (present-day Lithuania or Belarus). Bohusz-Siestrzeńcewicz studied at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts, graduating in 1900. He was influenced by the realist and impressionist movements.

His works often depicted scenes from rural life in Poland and the surrounding regions, featuring peasants, villages, and the natural environment. Bohusz-Siestrzeńcewicz’s paintings are characterized by a delicate use of color and light, capturing the atmosphere and mood of the countryside. He exhibited his work in Poland and internationally. Some of his paintings are found in museum collections in Poland.
