St. John's West (federal electoral district)
St. John's West was a federal electoral district in Newfoundland, Canada, that existed from 1949 to 1968. It was created upon Newfoundland joining Confederation in 1949 and was one of the original electoral districts in the province.
The district was primarily comprised of the western portion of the city of St. John's. Throughout its existence, it elected Members of Parliament (MPs) to the House of Commons.
Following the 1966 electoral redistribution, St. John's West was merged with parts of other ridings to create the new electoral district of St. John's West—Mount Pearl for the 1968 federal election. Its existence was therefore relatively short-lived compared to some other federal electoral districts.
