Southwark West (London County Council constituency)

Southwark West was a constituency used for elections to the London County Council (LCC) between 1889 and 1949. It returned two councillors.

The constituency comprised part of the Metropolitan Borough of Southwark. Its boundaries shifted somewhat over time, but generally covered the western portion of the borough. The creation of the constituency in 1889 coincided with the establishment of the London County Council.

Elected members of Southwark West represented the area and its constituents in the LCC, debating and voting on issues related to London's governance, including housing, education, public health, and transport. The LCC's responsibilities were broad, influencing many aspects of life in London.

In 1949, the constituency was abolished, with its area becoming part of a larger, multi-member constituency named Southwark. This change reflected boundary revisions and reforms within London's local government structure after the Second World War.
