Snail (song)
"Snail" is a song by British alternative rock band Blur, featured on their 1991 debut album, Leisure. It is one of the band's earliest compositions, predating their commercial breakthrough.
The song is characterized by its distinctive opening guitar riff, played by Graham Coxon, and its relatively upbeat tempo compared to some of the other tracks on Leisure. Damon Albarn's lyrics, typical of the album's themes, explore themes of boredom, apathy, and disillusionment with suburban life.
"Snail" was not released as a single, but it remains a popular track among fans and is often cited as an example of Blur's early sound, which was heavily influenced by shoegaze and Madchester bands. Despite its lack of single status, "Snail" has been included in several of Blur's compilation albums and live performances throughout their career.
