Simon Phillips (drummer)

Simon Phillips is a highly acclaimed English jazz, rock, and fusion drummer, engineer, and producer. Born in London, England, in 1957, he began playing professionally at the age of twelve. Phillips is renowned for his versatility, technical prowess, and impeccable timing.

Phillips' career spans decades and includes work with a vast array of prominent artists. He is perhaps best known for his long tenure as the drummer for the band Toto, joining in 1992 after the death of Jeff Porcaro and remaining until the band's hiatus in 2008, and again during their reformation.

Beyond Toto, Phillips has worked with artists such as Jeff Beck, Pete Townshend, Mick Jagger, The Who, David Gilmour, Brian Eno, Mike Oldfield, Joe Satriani, Steve Lukather, Hiromi Uehara, and many others.
