Sanctuary (2001 film)
Sanctuary is a 2001 drama film directed by Robert Mandel and starring Mark Dacascos, Robert Patrick, and Frederique van der Wal.
The film centers around Luke Kovak (Dacascos), a former CIA operative who is living a peaceful life working as a wildlife photographer. His past catches up with him when he is framed for the murder of a Senator. Forced to go on the run, he seeks to clear his name and uncover the truth behind the conspiracy. He is pursued by a relentless FBI agent, John 'Mac' MacAvoy (Patrick), who is determined to bring him to justice, and aided by a mysterious woman, Gabrielle Leger (van der Wal), who has her own reasons for helping him.
The plot involves government corruption, espionage, and a fight for survival. The film features action sequences and explores themes of trust, betrayal, and redemption. While not a widely acclaimed or commercially successful film, Sanctuary is considered a relatively obscure action-thriller within Dacascos's filmography. It received limited theatrical release and is primarily available on home video.
