Rostaq Rural District (Ashkezar County)

Rostaq Rural District is a rural district (dehestan) in Rostaq District, Ashkezar County, Yazd Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 4,846, in 1,398 families. The rural district has 47 villages. It is one of two rural districts that make up the Rostaq District, the other being Garizat Rural District. Rostaq Rural District encompasses a significant portion of the agricultural land within Ashkezar County, with traditional farming practices still prevalent alongside modern irrigation techniques. The communities within the district are characterized by strong social ties and a shared cultural heritage rooted in the region's history. Water scarcity remains a key challenge for the district's development and sustainability.
