Rod Williams (Australian footballer)
Rod Williams is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Geelong in the Victorian Football League (VFL) and the Sydney Swans in the Australian Football League (AFL).
Williams, a rover, was recruited to Geelong from Geelong West. He made his VFL debut in 1977 and played 51 games for the Cats, kicking 26 goals. He was known for his pace and tackling ability.
In 1982, Williams transferred to the South Melbourne Swans, who relocated to Sydney that same year. He played 49 games for the Swans, kicking 14 goals. He retired from AFL football at the end of the 1984 season.
