Horsham is a market town in West Sussex, England. It is the administrative centre of the Horsham District Council area. Located approximately 31 miles (50 km) south-west of London, Horsham lies on the upper reaches of the River Arun.

The name "Horsham" is believed to derive from "horse home" or "horse village", suggesting its historical importance as a place for horses. Archaeological evidence indicates settlement in the area dating back to prehistoric times. The town developed as a market centre, particularly during the medieval period, with its market charter granted in 1231. Horsham was a parliamentary borough from 1295 until 1832.
