Robert Eyton (archdeacon of Ely)

Robert Eyton (died 1529) was an English cleric and academic who served as Archdeacon of Ely.

Eyton was a Fellow of King's College, Cambridge, graduating BA in 1490 and MA in 1493. He held the position of Archdeacon of Ely from 1503 until his death in 1529. His role as Archdeacon placed him in a significant administrative position within the Diocese of Ely, responsible for overseeing the clergy and church affairs within his archdeaconry. He likely also held other ecclesiastical positions and benefices alongside his archidiaconal duties. His activities would have included visitation of parishes, oversight of church property, and enforcement of ecclesiastical law.
