Richard Newman (Australian cricketer)

Richard Newman (born 24 November 1945) is a former Australian cricketer who played first-class cricket for Tasmania.

A right-handed batsman and occasional right-arm medium-pace bowler, Newman played 17 first-class matches for Tasmania between the 1968/69 and 1973/74 seasons. He scored 444 runs at an average of 15.85, with a highest score of 57. He took 2 wickets at an average of 87.50. His career coincided with a period when Tasmania was not part of the Sheffield Shield competition.
