Rhein Fire (ELF)

The Rhein Fire is a professional American football team based in Düsseldorf, Germany. They are members of the European League of Football (ELF), a professional league featuring teams from across Europe.

The original Rhein Fire was a team in the NFL Europe league, which operated from 1995 to 2007. This team, also based in Düsseldorf, was one of the most successful franchises in the league, winning the World Bowl in 1998 and 2000.

The current Rhein Fire in the ELF was established in 2021 and began play in the league's inaugural season in 2021. While bearing the same name and city affiliation as the former NFL Europe team, it is a separate organization. The ELF's Rhein Fire seeks to build upon the legacy of the original franchise while establishing its own identity in the new European league. The team plays its home games at a stadium in Düsseldorf.
