Recycler (album)

Recycler is the tenth studio album by American rock band ZZ Top, released in 1990. It marked a shift in the band's sound, moving away from the heavily synthesized textures of their previous albums Eliminator and Afterburner towards a more blues-rock oriented approach, reminiscent of their earlier work.

The album's title is a reference to the themes of reusing and repurposing, reflecting both the band's return to their roots and the lyrical content of some of the songs. It peaked at number 6 on the Billboard 200 chart and spawned several singles, including "Doubleback," which was featured in the film Back to the Future Part III, "Concrete and Steel," and "My Head's in Mississippi." Recycler was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The album is notable for its artwork, featuring a stylized image related to the recycling theme. While commercially successful, Recycler received mixed reviews, with some critics praising the return to a rawer sound and others finding it uninspired.
