Rav Zevid
Rav Zevid (רב זביד) was an Amora of the fourth and fifth generations. He is primarily known for his legal rulings and discussions within the Babylonian Talmud. Rav Zevid was a colleague and sometimes a student of Rav Papa, and their debates and discussions are frequently recorded. He is considered a significant figure in the development of Talmudic law, particularly in areas of civil law (dinei mamonot) and ritual law (issur v'heter). While biographical details are scarce, his legal acumen and his contributions to the halakhic discourse are well-documented throughout the Talmudic text. He often appears in contexts where he is clarifying, challenging, or refining the opinions of earlier authorities.
