Pilot Season (comics)

Pilot Season was an annual initiative launched by Top Cow Productions in 2007, where comic book creators would produce a series of one-shot comic books, essentially acting as pilots for potential ongoing series. Readers were then given the opportunity to vote on which of the pilots they wanted to see developed into a full series. The voting process typically took place online and factored into Top Cow's decision-making process regarding which series to greenlight. The aim was to give readers a direct influence on the company's publishing line and discover new talent. Several iterations of Pilot Season occurred over the years, each featuring a different set of creator-driven one-shots.
