Philip Collins (journalist)
Philip Collins is a British journalist, academic, and former speechwriter. He is primarily known for his work as a columnist and leader writer for The Times newspaper, where he has been employed since 2001. He previously served as chief leader writer and associate editor.
Collins is also a contributing editor to Prospect magazine and a visiting professor at the London School of Economics (LSE) where he teaches on issues related to social justice.
Before joining The Times, he worked as a speechwriter for British Prime Minister Tony Blair from 1997 to 2001. His areas of expertise and writing frequently cover politics, economics, social policy, and philosophy. He is the author of several books, including biographies of Tony Blair and David Miliband, and works exploring political and social thought. He is a frequent commentator on British political affairs.
