Peter Grant (abbé)
Peter Grant (born 1925, died 2004) was a Scottish Catholic priest, noted for his work in promoting ecumenism and interfaith dialogue. He served as the Roman Catholic chaplain at Edinburgh University from 1962 to 1993. Prior to that, he was a parish priest.
Grant was an advocate for improved relations between Catholics and Presbyterians, particularly within Scotland. He was instrumental in establishing and participating in numerous ecumenical initiatives. He held a deep personal commitment to bridging divides and fostering understanding between different Christian denominations. His efforts were particularly important in a historical context marked by significant sectarian tensions in Scotland.
He was ordained as an abbé, a title conferred on certain clergy members.
