Percy Anderson (judge)

Percy Anderson is a United States District Judge for the Central District of California.

Anderson was born in Los Angeles, California. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1976 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Southern California Law School in 1979.

Prior to his judicial service, Anderson was a partner at the law firm of Sidley Austin LLP, specializing in complex commercial litigation. Before joining Sidley Austin, he served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Central District of California from 1982 to 1989, prosecuting white-collar crime and narcotics offenses.

On June 26, 2008, Anderson was nominated by President George W. Bush to a seat on the United States District Court for the Central District of California vacated by Gary Allen Feess. He was confirmed by the United States Senate on September 26, 2008, and received his commission on October 1, 2008.

As a judge, Anderson has presided over a variety of civil and criminal cases. He is a member of various legal organizations and has participated in numerous continuing legal education programs.
