Pechstein

Pechstein refers primarily to Claudia Pechstein, a German speed skater. She is one of the most decorated and controversial athletes in the history of the sport, holding numerous Olympic and World Championship medals.

Pechstein has competed in six Winter Olympic Games, from 1992 to 2022, winning nine medals in total (five gold, two silver, and two bronze). Her specialties are the long-distance events, including the 3000m, 5000m, and team pursuit.
