Nyan Koi!

Nyan Koi! is a Japanese romantic comedy manga series written and illustrated by Sato Fujiwara. It was serialized in Flex Comix's Comi Digi + and later Comic Meteor from 2007 to 2015.

The story centers on Natsuru Junpei, a high school student who is allergic to cats. One day, he accidentally breaks a cat statue and is cursed with the ability to understand what cats are saying. He learns that if he doesn't grant 100 cats' wishes, he will turn into a cat himself. The series follows Junpei as he tries to fulfill this daunting task while navigating his complicated romantic feelings for his classmates, Kaede Mizuno and Kanako Sumiyoshi, as well as other girls he meets throughout his quest.

The title "Nyan Koi!" is a play on words. "Nyan" is the Japanese onomatopoeia for a cat's meow. "Koi" means love, and the exclamation point suggests excitement or enthusiasm. Thus, the title suggests a love story involving cats.

The manga was adapted into a 12-episode anime television series produced by AIC and directed by Keiichiro Kawaguchi. The anime aired in Japan from October to December 2009. The anime largely follows the plot of the manga, albeit with some modifications and omissions.
