Nodes of Ranvier (band)
Nodes of Ranvier is an American metalcore band formed in Flint, Michigan, in 2003. The band's name is derived from the gaps in the myelin sheath of nerve cells, known as the Nodes of Ranvier, reflecting their intense and technical musical style.
The band released several albums and EPs throughout their career, including The Nurse (2005), Lost in Lucidity (2007), and Pathos (2010). Their sound is characterized by a blend of aggressive metalcore riffs, technical instrumentation, and screamed vocals, often incorporating elements of death metal. They are known for their intense live performances and have toured extensively throughout the United States and internationally.
Nodes of Ranvier have been associated with other metalcore bands such as The Devil Wears Prada and As I Lay Dying. While they experienced periods of inactivity, they have reunited for shows and occasional releases. Their influence can be seen in the technical metalcore scene.
