Nikolai Martynov (politician)
Nikolai Vlasovich Martynov (born March 22, 1955) is a Russian politician and former head of the Altai Republic. He served as the Head of the Republic from January 13, 1997, until January 19, 1998.
Martynov's tenure was marked by political instability and challenges in the Altai Republic. He was elected by the State Assembly of the Altai Republic. His brief time in office saw efforts to address socioeconomic issues facing the region, but he ultimately failed to secure a full term in office. Following his departure from the head of the republic position, he remained active in regional politics, though not always in prominent roles. Information regarding his political activities following his governorship is somewhat limited and fragmented.
