Carr attended the University of Washington, where he played college football for the Washington Huskies. He was a key player on the Huskies defense, known for his speed and hard-hitting style.
He was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the second round (47th overall) of the 1981 NFL Draft. Carr played for the Seahawks from 1981 to 1985. He was a starting linebacker for several seasons and contributed significantly to the Seahawks' defensive efforts.
