Muğanlı (Şıxbabalı), Agdam

Muğanlı (Şıxbabalı) is a village located in the Agdam District of Azerbaijan. Prior to the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh War, the village was under the control of Armenian forces and administered as part of the Martakert Province of the self-proclaimed Republic of Artsakh under the name "Nor Haykadzor" (Նոր Հայկաձոր). Following the 2020 war, control of the Agdam District, including Muğanlı (Şıxbabalı), was returned to Azerbaijan as part of the ceasefire agreement. The area is currently undergoing reconstruction and resettlement efforts. Historical information regarding the village prior to the conflict is limited, and present-day information is evolving as the region stabilizes.
