Motive (company)

Motive is a video game development studio owned by Electronic Arts (EA). It was officially announced in July 2015 and is based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Motive's initial focus was on developing new intellectual property and action-adventure games. Their first major project was the development of Star Wars Battlefront II's single-player campaign, which was released in 2017. Following this, Motive led development on Star Wars: Squadrons, a first-person space combat game released in 2020.

In January 2021, it was announced that Motive was working on a remake of the survival horror classic, Dead Space. This remake was released in January 2023 to critical acclaim.
