Moshok
Moshok is a village located in the northern part of the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh, specifically in the Upper Siang district. It is situated in a remote and mountainous region, characterized by its rugged terrain and dense forests. The inhabitants of Moshok primarily belong to the Adi tribe, a major indigenous group in Arunachal Pradesh.
The economy of Moshok is largely based on agriculture, with residents engaging in traditional farming practices like jhum cultivation (slash-and-burn agriculture). Rice, maize, and various vegetables are among the main crops grown. Animal husbandry, including the rearing of mithun (a semi-domesticated bovine), also contributes to the local economy.
Due to its remote location, Moshok faces challenges in terms of infrastructure development, including transportation, communication, and access to education and healthcare. Efforts are being made by the government and various organizations to improve these facilities and integrate the village into the mainstream. The culture of Moshok, deeply rooted in Adi traditions, is preserved through festivals, rituals, and traditional crafts.
