Micky Finn (footballer)
Micky Finn (born 23 July 1953) is a former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He is best known for his time with Oxford United during their rise through the English football leagues in the 1980s.
Finn began his career at Cambridge United before moving to Peterborough United. In 1982, he joined Oxford United and was a key member of the side managed by Jim Smith and later Maurice Evans. He contributed to Oxford's consecutive promotions from the Third Division to the First Division (now the Premier League) between 1983 and 1985. Finn was known for his tenacious tackling and work rate in midfield.
He also played in Oxford United's League Cup winning team of 1986, defeating Queens Park Rangers 3-0 in the final at Wembley.
Finn later moved to Reading before finishing his playing career. After retiring from professional football, he remained involved in the sport at a non-league level.
