Charles Davis (basketball, born 1958)
Charles "Charlie" Davis (born October 4, 1958) is a retired American professional basketball player. He was a 6'7" (2.01 m) small forward.
Davis played college basketball for Vanderbilt University from 1976 to 1981, where he was a four-year starter and a key contributor to the Commodores' success. He was known for his versatile offensive game and strong rebounding ability.
Following his collegiate career, Davis was selected by the Washington Bullets (later the Washington Wizards) in the 3rd round (69th overall) of the 1981 NBA draft. He played a single season in the NBA with the Bullets during the 1981-82 season, appearing in 47 games and averaging 2.7 points per game.
After his brief NBA stint, Davis played professionally overseas in Italy. His time in Italy was regarded as more successful than his short time in the NBA. Details of his career after leaving professional basketball are not widely available.
