Meath (Dáil constituency)
Meath was a Dáil Éireann constituency in Ireland. It existed from 1921 to 1937, electing members to Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Oireachtas (Irish legislature).
The constituency was created under the Government of Ireland Act 1920 and was used for the 1921, 1922, 1923, 1927 (June), 1927 (September) and 1932 general elections. It covered the geographic area of County Meath.
Meath was a 4-seat constituency until the June 1927 election, when it was reduced to a 3-seat constituency.
In 1937, the constituency was abolished and replaced by the Meath–Westmeath constituency. The abolishment was a result of the Electoral (Revision of Constituencies) Act 1935, which redrew constituency boundaries across Ireland. The eastern part of Meath was included in the new Louth–Meath constituency.
