Mazlan Nordin

Mazlan Nordin is a Malaysian astrophysicist known for his work in space science education and public outreach. He served as the Director-General of the Malaysian National Space Agency (ANGKASA) and played a key role in Malaysia's space program, including the Angkasawan program which sent the first Malaysian, Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor, to the International Space Station in 2007.

Dr. Nordin holds a PhD in Theoretical Physics from the University of Texas at Austin. He has also held positions at various international institutions, including NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center. His expertise lies in areas such as cosmology, gravitation, and space science policy. Beyond his contributions to space administration and policy, he is a recognized advocate for STEM education and promoting scientific literacy among the Malaysian public. He has authored numerous publications and presented extensively on space-related topics.
