Marcus Wallenberg (born 1956)
Marcus Wallenberg (born March 29, 1956) is a Swedish banker and industrialist. He is currently the Chairman of Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken (SEB), a leading Nordic financial services group, and of FAM AB, a holding company within the Wallenberg sphere.
Wallenberg is a member of the fifth generation of the prominent Wallenberg family, a family deeply involved in Swedish industry and finance for over a century. He graduated from the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. with a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service (BSFS).
Prior to becoming Chairman of SEB, Wallenberg served as the bank's CEO from 1999 to 2005. His career has involved numerous board positions across various industries, including Saab AB, Ericsson, and Investor AB. He has also been actively involved in promoting Swedish industry and innovation.
Wallenberg's leadership style is often described as consensus-oriented, reflecting the Wallenberg family's traditional approach to business. He is known for his commitment to long-term value creation and sustainable business practices. He holds several honorary doctorates from Swedish universities.
