Manny Fernandez (wrestler)

Manny Fernandez (born October 15, 1954) is a retired American professional wrestler, best known for his time in Jim Crockett Promotions during the mid-1980s.

Fernandez initially gained prominence in the NWA territories, showcasing his tough, no-nonsense style. He was a multiple-time NWA World Tag Team Champion, often teaming with Rick Rude and later Dusty Rhodes as "America's Team". He was known for his aggressive in-ring persona and his finisher, the "Flying Burrito," a running powerslam.

A notable feud was with Abdullah the Butcher, which often resulted in bloody and brutal matches. Fernandez's character was generally portrayed as a proud Hispanic-American, which resonated with many fans. He also held the NWA World Six-Man Tag Team Championship with Dusty Rhodes and Baron von Raschke.

After leaving Jim Crockett Promotions, Fernandez wrestled in various independent promotions. He eventually retired from active competition and has since been involved in training aspiring professional wrestlers. He is regarded as a solid in-ring performer who contributed to the success of Jim Crockett Promotions during its peak.
