Malcolm Allen (politician)
Malcolm Allen is a Canadian politician. He served as the Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) for the riding of Welland in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 2007 to 2018. He was a member of the New Democratic Party (NDP).
Allen was first elected in the 2007 Ontario general election, defeating incumbent Peter Kormos, also of the NDP, who had represented the riding for over two decades. This followed Kormos's decision to run as an independent after losing the NDP nomination. Allen successfully defended his seat in the 2011 and 2014 elections.
During his time as an MPP, Allen served in various critic roles for the NDP, including critic for agriculture, food, and rural affairs. He also served on various legislative committees.
Allen lost his seat in the 2018 Ontario general election to Jeff Burch of the NDP.
