Magicka 2
Magicka 2 is an action-adventure video game developed by Pieces Interactive and published by Paradox Interactive. It is the sequel to the 2011 game Magicka. Released in 2015 for PlayStation 4 and Microsoft Windows, Magicka 2 retains the core gameplay mechanics of its predecessor, focusing on cooperative play and a unique spellcasting system.
Players assume the roles of wizards, utilizing a combination of eight elemental "Magicks" (Water, Life, Shield, Cold, Lightning, Arcane, Fire, and Earth) to create spells. These elements can be combined in various sequences, allowing for a wide array of spell effects. Friendly fire is a prominent feature, encouraging careful spellcasting and often leading to chaotic and humorous situations.
Magicka 2 features a story-driven campaign playable in single-player or with up to four players in cooperative mode. The game also includes challenge modes and artifacts which modify gameplay. The narrative presents a satirical and humorous take on fantasy tropes, similar to the original Magicka. Key differences from the original game include a streamlined spellcasting interface and the introduction of "Artifacts" that allow players to customize their gameplay experience with various modifiers.
