M1934 helmet (Spain)

The M1934 helmet, also known as the Modelo M34, was the standard combat helmet of the Spanish Republican Army during the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). It was adopted prior to the war and continued to be used to a lesser extent by both sides after the conflict ended, although the Nationalist forces often preferred captured Republican helmets or their own designs.

The M1934 was a relatively modern helmet for its time, featuring a deep, flared skirt for increased protection and a prominent brow. It was typically constructed of pressed steel, offering significant ballistic protection compared to older helmet designs. The helmet's liner was usually made of leather or fabric, providing a degree of comfort and shock absorption. A chinstrap secured the helmet to the wearer's head.
