Métisse (band)
Métisse was a French musical duo formed in 1993, consisting of singer Aïda and guitarist/programmer Skully. Their music blended trip hop, world music, and electronic elements, creating a distinctive sound. Aïda's vocals, often incorporating diverse languages and styles, were a key element of their appeal.
The band gained international recognition with their debut album "Météo" (1999), which featured the singles "Sousoundé" and "Boom Boom Bā". Their music was characterized by its atmospheric textures, rhythmic complexity, and multicultural influences.
While primarily active in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Métisse left a mark on the world music scene with their innovative fusion of genres. Subsequent albums included "Exotic Blend" (2005). The band's activity has been sporadic in later years.
