Love Song (Anne Murray album)
Love Song is a studio album by Canadian singer Anne Murray, released in 1974 on Capitol Records. It was her eighth studio album and continued her string of highly successful recordings, reaching platinum status in the United States.
The album features a mix of contemporary pop and country songs, showcasing Murray's smooth vocals and interpretive skills. The title track, "Love Song," written by Kenny Loggins and Donna Farar, was a prominent single from the album and became a signature song for Murray, although it was not a chart-topping hit for her. Other notable songs included "He Thinks I Still Care," a country standard previously recorded by George Jones, and "You Won't See Me," originally by The Beatles.
Love Song helped to solidify Murray's crossover appeal, bridging the gap between country and pop audiences. The album's success contributed to her ongoing popularity throughout the 1970s and beyond. The production was handled primarily by Brian Ahern, who collaborated with Murray on many of her most successful recordings.
