Lord Roberts (electoral district)

Lord Roberts is a provincial electoral division in the Canadian province of Manitoba. It was created in 1958 and has existed almost continuously since that time, with the exception of a brief period from 1969 to 1973 when its area was divided into two other ridings.

The district is located in the southern part of Winnipeg. It is named after Field Marshal Frederick Roberts, 1st Earl Roberts, a prominent British military commander. Historically, the riding has been considered a bellwether, often electing members of the party that forms the government.

The boundaries of the constituency have shifted over the years to accommodate population changes and redistribution exercises. Key landmarks within the riding have included, at various times, Grant Park Shopping Centre and a portion of the University of Manitoba campus.
