Local Heroes (American TV series)
Local Heroes was an American television situation comedy that aired on NBC as part of its 1986-1987 fall lineup. The show starred John Navin, Meagen Fay, and Ken Page.
The series centered on the quirky residents of a small, fictional town in rural Massachusetts named Maynard. John Navin played Jack, a young New Yorker who unexpectedly inherits his grandfather's hardware store in Maynard, forcing him to adjust to small-town life. Meagen Fay played Molly, the town's energetic and somewhat eccentric postmistress who befriends Jack. Ken Page played Gus, a local handyman and Jack's employee, known for his colorful personality and tall tales.
Local Heroes was created by David Isaacs and Ken Levine, who were also writers and producers for Cheers and MASH*. Despite its pedigree, the show failed to find a strong audience and was cancelled after only a few episodes aired in the fall of 1986. The show is not widely available on streaming services or for purchase on physical media.
