Lil Wayne

Lil Wayne (born Dwayne Michael Carter Jr.; September 27, 1982) is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and record executive. He is often regarded as one of the most influential hip hop artists of his generation.

Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, Lil Wayne signed with Cash Money Records at the age of 11. He joined the hip hop group Hot Boys in his early teens. Lil Wayne gained prominence in the late 1990s, becoming a core member of the Cash Money collective.

His solo career began with the album Tha Block Is Hot (1999), which achieved platinum certification.
