Manzanita (Tony Rice album)
Manzanita is a bluegrass album released in 1979 by guitarist Tony Rice. It is considered a highly influential album in the development of "new acoustic" music and bluegrass guitar playing.
The album features Rice's signature flatpicking style and sophisticated arrangements, drawing from bluegrass, jazz, and other musical influences. The repertoire includes traditional bluegrass tunes, original compositions, and interpretations of songs from other genres. Notable tracks include the title track "Manzanita," "Old Train," and "Devlin'."
