Larry Farmer (basketball)

Larry Farmer (born January 29, 1951) is an American former basketball player and coach.

Farmer played college basketball at UCLA under legendary coach John Wooden, winning three national championships (1970, 1971, and 1972) as a player. He primarily served as a reserve forward on those championship teams.

Following his playing career, Farmer transitioned into coaching. He served as the head coach of the UCLA Bruins men's basketball team from 1981 to 1984. During his tenure, he compiled a record of 61-23. While he led the Bruins to two NCAA tournament appearances, he never advanced beyond the Sweet Sixteen. He resigned in 1984.

After UCLA, Farmer went on to coach at Weber State University from 1985 to 1988, where he improved the program's performance. He later coached at Loyola University Chicago from 1998 to 2004.

Beyond college coaching, Farmer also held coaching positions in the NBA, serving as an assistant coach for the Golden State Warriors. He has also worked as a scout for several NBA teams.

Farmer is also known for his international coaching experience, having coached professionally in Israel. His career showcases a variety of roles within the basketball world, from player to head coach to assistant coach and scout, at both the collegiate and professional levels.
