Langvatnet (Sørfold)
Langvatnet is a lake located in Sørfold municipality, Nordland county, Norway. It is situated approximately 10 kilometers northeast of the village of Straumen. The lake primarily drains into the Sørfolda fjord via several smaller streams and rivers. Langvatnet is characterized by relatively clear water and is a popular destination for fishing, particularly for trout and Arctic char. The surrounding landscape consists of typical North Norwegian terrain, including mountains, forests, and marshland. There are some cabins and hiking trails in the area, although access is generally considered to be somewhat remote. The lake's name, "Langvatnet," directly translates to "long lake" in Norwegian, a descriptive term referencing its elongated shape.
