Langat (federal constituency)

Langat is a federal constituency in Selangor, Malaysia, that has been represented in the Dewan Rakyat since 1995.

It was created in the 1994 redistribution and is mandated to return a single member to the Dewan Rakyat under the first-past-the-post voting system.

The constituency is primarily located in the Hulu Langat district of Selangor, encompassing areas such as Batu 14 Hulu Langat, Cheras South, and parts of Kajang. The population is a mix of urban and semi-rural communities. The electorate is diverse, comprising Malay, Chinese, Indian, and other ethnic groups.

Historically, the Langat parliamentary seat has seen competition between various political parties and coalitions in Malaysia.
