Kenny Johnson (basketball)
Kenny Johnson is an American college basketball coach and former player. He is currently an assistant coach for the Rhode Island Rams.
Johnson played college basketball at Ohio University from 1997 to 2001. As a player, he was a four-year starter and earned All-Mid-American Conference honors.
Following his playing career, Johnson began his coaching career. He has held assistant coaching positions at the University of Dayton, Indiana University, the University of Louisville, Xavier University, and the University of California, Berkeley.
Johnson is known for his recruiting abilities and player development skills. He has been credited with helping develop several NBA players, including Trey Lyles, Donovan Mitchell, and Montrezl Harrell.
In March 2024, Johnson was hired as an assistant coach at Rhode Island under head coach Archie Miller.
