Krishna Kumari (actress)

Krishna Kumari (March 6, 1933 – January 24, 2018) was an Indian actress who predominantly worked in Telugu cinema, alongside Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam films. She was a leading actress during the Golden Age of Telugu cinema, starring in over 150 films.

Krishna Kumari was born in Naihati, West Bengal. She made her acting debut in the Telugu film Navvite Navaratnalu (1951). Her career spanned from the early 1950s to the mid-1970s. Some of her notable films include Peddamanushulu (1954), Bangaru Papa (1954), Jayabheri (1959), Bharya Bhartalu (1961), Vagdanam (1961), Kuladaivam (1960), Gudi Gantalu (1964), and Antastulu (1965). She frequently starred opposite prominent actors like N. T. Rama Rao, Akkineni Nageswara Rao, and Jaggayya.

She retired from acting after her marriage. Krishna Kumari spent her later years in Bangalore with her family. She passed away on January 24, 2018, due to age-related ailments. She is remembered as one of the most popular and successful actresses in the history of Telugu cinema.
