Kim Jones (designer)
Kim Jones is a British fashion designer renowned for his innovative approach to menswear, blending streetwear, luxury, and high fashion. He is known for his collaborative spirit, often working with artists and brands to create unique and highly sought-after collections.
Jones began his career studying menswear design at Central Saint Martins. After graduating, he launched his eponymous label in 2003, showcasing his collections at London Fashion Week. His early work demonstrated a strong understanding of tailoring combined with a contemporary sensibility.
In 2008, Jones joined British heritage brand Dunhill as Creative Director, where he modernized the brand's image while respecting its history. He remained at Dunhill until 2011.
From 2011 to 2018, Jones served as Men's Artistic Director at Louis Vuitton. During his tenure, he significantly elevated the brand's menswear offering, introducing collaborations with artists such as Jake & Dinos Chapman and the streetwear brand Supreme. His collaboration with Supreme in 2017 is considered a landmark moment in fashion history, bridging the gap between luxury and streetwear on an unprecedented scale.
In 2018, Jones was appointed Artistic Director of Dior Men. He continues to bring his signature blend of streetwear and luxury to the house, collaborating with artists like KAWS, Daniel Arsham, and Peter Doig. He is also known for his reinterpretations of classic Dior silhouettes and his integration of couture techniques into menswear.
In addition to his role at Dior Men, in 2020, Jones was named Artistic Director of Fendi Couture and Womenswear. He replaced Karl Lagerfeld, becoming only the second designer to hold this position. At Fendi, he is responsible for overseeing the brand's haute couture and womenswear collections.
