Kechnec

Kechnec is a village and municipality in Košice-okolie District in the Košice Region of eastern Slovakia. The municipality lies at an altitude of 204 meters and covers an area of 12.945 km². It has a population of approximately 1,300 people. The village is located approximately 20 kilometers southwest of Košice. Historically, Kechnec was part of the Abaúj-Torna county of the Kingdom of Hungary. As a modern municipality, Kechnec is known for its strategic location near the Hungarian border and its increasing industrial presence, particularly within the Kechnec Industrial Park, which has attracted foreign investment and contributes significantly to the local economy.
