Al-Watan (Kuwait)
Al-Watan was a privately owned Arabic-language daily newspaper published in Kuwait. Founded in 1974, it was one of the leading newspapers in the country, offering coverage of local, regional, and international news. Al-Watan was known for its independent editorial stance and its focus on Kuwaiti affairs, as well as its coverage of business, culture, and sports.
The newspaper ceased publication in 2016 due to a court order related to financial difficulties and debts. The closure marked a significant change in the Kuwaiti media landscape. Al-Watan also operated a television channel under the same name, which also ceased broadcasting at the same time.
